Garrett Lambert (Senior Foreign Affairs Advisor)

Mr. Lambert is the Managing Director of GLI Associates Inc. Between 1968 to 1997, he spent his career as a foreign service officer in the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) (www.dfait-maeci.gc.ca). One of Canada’s highest ranking diplomats and public servants, Mr. Lambert has held several senior positions in Canada, including Assistant Deputy Minister for Corporate Management and Chief Financial Officer for DFAIT (1990-94). He served as Director General for Trade and Investment with the USA during the establishment of the Free Trade Agreement (1985-88). Mr. Lambert has had many ambassadorial appointments included Hong Kong during its return to China (1994-97); Malaysia (1988-90); Nigeria and Sierra Leone (1982-85). He served as Commercial Counselor in Poland and East Germany (1975-78); West Germany (1971-74); and Iran (1969-71). Mr. Lambert has been an advisor to the President of University of Victoria, University of Canada West and sits on the advisory committee of several Victoria charities.
